Book 1 of 5 book series
God Battery
David Dennis finds lost pets. That’s the job. That’s the magic he’s got. His partner is Rutrow, a capable dog who is better at the work than most people David meets.
Then a case in Columbus, Ohio goes wrong, and an ancient force decides David is the battery it needs to become a god. The Wizard’s Guild wants him caged. David wants to live. What he has, besides Rutrow, is an improbable set of allies and a thin chance to save the city that never asked to be part of this.
God Battery is urban fantasy about wild magic, found family, and a young man who was never supposed to matter this much.
Book 2:
The Hollowing does not kill the way other things kill.
It drains. Animals first. Then people. Then the land. What it leaves behind still looks upright. Nothing alive is left inside it.
David Dennis already has a Wizard Guild warrant for his arrest, a serpent’s mark under his ribs, and a dog the wild magic will not let die. None of that is what matters. Thin places in Ohio are starting to fail. Something from a dying world is pushing through, and it does not care about Guild procedure or vampire politics.
The first crossing is a burial mound west of the city. The Hollowing can not be killed. Nobody David trusts has a way to deal with them and many more are coming.
He has seven days to find a way to stop them.
